The history of our creative cluster dates back to 1927, when, by order No. 1157 of the USSR supreme council of the national economy, the Central research Institute of the Textile Industry (CNIITI) was established.
It was here that the foundations of the domestic scientific school for textiles were laid, creating unique technologies and equipment unparalleled in the world.
Over the years, the institute made immense contributions to the development of the country's textile sector: during the war - continuing scientific research even while evacuated, in the post-war decades - creating innovative technologies, machinery, and materials, and receiving state awards and prizes for its achievements.
Throughout its operation, the institute obtained over one and a half thousand patents for inventions, industrial designs, and utility models, forever etching its name in the history of the textile industry.
Since 2023, building on this rich legacy, "NPC CNIISherst" has embarked on a new chapter - the space has been transformed into the "Legprompark" creative cluster, merging research activities with support for young designers and creative industries. Here, we continue scientific research, create opportunities for collaboration, business development, and the integration of innovations into the fashion industry.
A special source of pride is the carefully preserved library of "NPC CNIISherst," which houses rare editions and unique works that remain an invaluable source of knowledge for new generations of researchers and designers.
Today, our cluster is a place where history meets the future. Here, scientific traditions are revitalized, and young brands, designers, and researchers receive support to bring their ideas to life.
